The well-known expert on organizational development, Dr. John Maxwell shared his conviction that the Bible offers the greatest examples of leadership. He then worked deep in the Bible to illustrate his position and influence to remain faithful to his definition of leadership (original source: J. Oswald Sanders)
With the King James Version as the most important resource, Maxwell takes the reader into each book of the Bible. At the beginning of each book, it offers:
A summary
The role of God
Leadership
Persons of influence
Lessons in Leadership
Highlights of leadership
Then about every book, Maxwell telephone booths attract attention to a particular verse or passage with a focus on leadership. Also 21 above will meet in order to be a leader and the communication is one of them with 21 laws of leadership. For a complete list of these laws and qualities are found to be the end of this book. These lists of 21 after two more books.
For example, in the first book of the Bible, Genesis, the Fall is a real challenge for the communication between Adam and Eve. Continuing with the communication, the iBook to John (New Testament) identifies it as Jesus revealed the secret of good communication to keep it short, simple, sensible and sizzle.
Maxwell has done is to provide a further filter to see from the Bible. His comments and questions to the intellect a deeper understanding of not only leadership, but the essence of the Bible stir. To deprive highlight each book of the Bible would be a lot of what Maxwell is trying to do.
However, if you are looking for a new way or to a better understanding of the Bible and, more important, then this book is that you add to your collection. From a personal perspective, I particularly enjoyed the last book of the Apocalypse, and how it really is the sum of the great leaders.
